POiW GOMAR is a family business with many-year tradition in the processing fruits and vegetables. The prime activity of the firm arises from the agricultural tradition of the Gorniak family. In its present form the company came into being in 1992 in Lipsko, with the marriage of Irene and Michael Gorniak. At present, GOMAR, with its own product range covers several provinces, with the production concentrated in three branches – Walentynow, Kielce and Pinczow.
The original activity of the firm was the purchasing of fruit and vegetables and the production of frozen fruits in the refrigeration branch in Walentynow (mazowieckie voivodeship. Then, the company expanded in export, as the preferential distribution channel for its own goods. Thanks to the skills of the Management and the realisation of its own endeavours, new markets in the west was opened for GOMAR’s frozen fruits. This success allowed new investments in 1997, i.e. the purchase of the refrigeration branch in Kielce. Already having customers in the west, and with suitable raw materials and production potential, the firm grew bigger with expansion into the Russian market. The eastern mega-market was wide open for the GOMAR frozen fruits.
To further expand, Michael Gorniak bought from one of the market leaders, the modern production branch to produce juices, fruits and vegetables preserves, in Pinczow (świętokrzyskie voivodeship). He began the production of frozen fruits and vegetables and juice concentrates with a full usage of production possibilities. At this point it shoud be added, that the new owner continued production with the existing workforce and abided by all existing work practises. The growth in production and growth in sales led to an increase in the workforce. At present this stands at some 400 workers, all experienced in this field. Business contacts were now opened with contracting parties from all over the world. In addition to half-products and concentrates, GOMAR started to produce finished goods such as ready to drink juices, drinks, syrups, jams, cucumbers and other fruit and vegetable products.
In świętokrzystkie region, GOMAR is the market leader in the production and sale of fruit and vegetable preserves, which are a source of natural vitamins and minerals. GOMAR products are free from chemical preservatives. The main income of the firm is the national sale and export of frozen fruits and vegetables and fruit juice concentrates. The firm is part of the producers of Swietokrzyskie Union and possesses the quality mark “Quality from Swietokrzyskie”.
